The Project

Project Description
P-GENIUS is a collaborative initiative designed to empower educators and enhance the learning experience of vocational education and training (VET) students, particularly those with learning disabilities (LDs) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and dyscalculia. The project focuses on the innovative use of generative AI tools to create personalized and engaging educational materials, enabling trainers to adapt content to individual learning needs effectively. By fostering inclusion and raising awareness about the challenges faced by students with LDs, P-GENIUS aims to strengthen the skills of educators and improve their ability to deliver tailored and impactful learning experiences.
Target Groups
Direct groups: In general the profile of the participants that consist the target groups of the P-GENIUS, meet the following conditions:
– VET educators and trainers
– VET educators and trainers of the consortium’s VET schools, organizations and of associated partners
Indirect:
– VET Students with learning disabilities, aged 12-18
– VET Students without learning disabilities, aged 12-18
Objectives
1. Developing an AI-Driven Educational Ecosystem: We aim to establish a comprehensive framework that incorporates bothinformational and technological resources essential for AI-enhanced educational practices. This will include a foundation for PLPs importance and way to approach based on the different interests or learning needs of the students, alongside with an AI – database and a dedicated guide for utilizing Gen-AI tools effectively. Moreover, a digital platform will serve as a nexus for educators, fostering a collaborative environment that champions AI innovations in education. Together, these components will cultivate a nurturing ecosystem that embraces AI to enrich personalized learning experiences, promoting both inclusivity and accessibility across educational landscapes.
2. Empowering Educators with AI Tools: We will focus on enhancing educators’ capabilities through AI tools, emphasizing the development of personalized lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs identified by research. This will involve upskilling educators in the latest AI advancements for content creation and evaluation, supported by educational video resources. Additionally, we plan to offer practical, hands-on workshop aimed at collaboratively developing AI-enhanced personalized lesson plans, ensuring educators are well-equipped to integrate these innovations into their teaching practices effectively.
3. Facilitating Real-World Application of AI in VET: We will undertake a comprehensive evaluation of AI-integrated personalized lesson plans through a pilot phase, incorporating feedback from educators and learners to enhance and refine our approaches. Additionally, we will engage in critical discussions about the broader implications of adopting AI technologies in education, including ethical considerations and the balance of benefits and drawbacks, to ensure a thoughtful and responsible integration of AI into vocational education and training environments.
